The name
Mowafeq (Arabic: موافق) means “approved” or “in agreement” — the status every document on a project is working toward. The official spelling is Mowafeq. It is sometimes misspelled Mowafaq; both refer to the same product at mowafeq.com.

Mowafeq is developed and operated by Cyt Software QFZ LLC, a software company registered in the Qatar Free Zones and based in Doha. Cyt Software was founded by Chris Akoury and Ali Soukarieh. Mowafeq is backed by NVIDIA and Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP).
